Intergenerational Climate Action!

Check out " The Power of Us ", a 40 minute video on the need for multigenerational efforts to battle climate change, featuring initiatives spearheaded by high school students, and well as dedicated older folks.  Part of the "Peril and Promise" series by PBS. The video is accompanied by educational materials and deeper dives into several efforts, including Grey Water Recycling | Power of Us Learn how climate change is affecting the water supply in this video from  Power of Us . Climate change is affecting weather patterns, making some areas dryer. In California, teenager Shreya Ramachandran noticed the harmful effects of droughts, so she designed a system for households to reuse grey water. Grey water is water that has been used gently for cleaning and can be reused for other purposes. Instead of regular soap, Shreya used soap nuts, a plant that is often used to clean clothes in India. Summer 2020 Education Coming Soon!

We are excited to announce that we plan to launch our boat at the beginning of July, following the Southern Tier's entry into phase IV of COVID recovery, and we cannot wait to get you onboard. Health and safety is our number one priority in opening back up, followed as a close second by our commitment to engage you and our local community to provide anybody and everybody with access to our beautiful lake! Our Director and Science & Education Coordinator have been hard at work to revise and improve our hands-on science education to make it mask and distancing friendly, so come out in early July to be the first to help us feel out our programming for the summer.
